Steven A. Altman is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Management and Organizations at the New York University Stern School of Business, as well as Senior Research Scholar and Director of the DHL Initiative on Globalization at NYU Stern's Center for the Future of Management. He holds a PhD in International Business and Strategy from the University of Reading, an MBA with distinction from the Harvard Business School, an MPA from Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government, and a B.S. in Economics summa cum laude from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
Professor Altman’s research focuses on understanding the patterns of international flows of goods and services, capital, information, and people, how cross-country differences and distances shape those flows, and their implications for business and public policy. He has managed the development of a variety of teaching and decision-making tools based on that research, and is the co-author of the DHL Global Connectedness Index, a detailed country-by-country examination of globalization.
