Abby Hegarty

Abby Hegarty is the Assistant Director of Operations at NYU Stern School of Business. In this role, she supports the end-to-end execution of executive programming, with a focus on delivering a seamless and thoughtful experience for clients and students. Hegarty ensures a seamless learning environment by managing all logistical elements—from securing appropriate venues to coordinating menus that accommodate dietary needs. She works closely with faculty, internal departments, and external vendors to coordinate logistics that support high-touch events and collaborative initiatives.
Prior to joining Stern, Hegarty held multiple leadership roles at Northeastern University, where she managed operations for both graduate and undergraduate programs within the College of Engineering. Her responsibilities spanned academic advising, course scheduling, student engagement, and event planning, all while leading initiatives to streamline processes and improve service delivery which enhanced the student and faculty experience. Hegarty built a strong foundation in academic operations, project management, and stakeholder collaboration. She is adept at navigating complex logistics, and problem-solving while maintaining a focus on service, strategic planning, and translating goals into practical outcomes.
Hegarty holds a Master of Arts in Political Science and a Graduate Certificate in Security and Resilience Studies from Northeastern University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Saint Joseph’s University. When she’s not at Stern, Hegarty enjoys staying active, exploring New York City’s vibrant neighborhoods, and rating films on Letterboxd like it's her part-time job.
