Welcome to Advanced Corporate Finance: Strategies for Optimizing Capital Structure and Maximizing Shareholder Value. I am looking forward to working with you during your three days at Stern, May 8-10, 2023. In those three days, we will be learning how and why financial leverage—the choice between debt and equity—affects firm and shareholder value, how firms account for the effects of leverage when making investment decisions, and how they can maximize value by using an optimal degree of leverage...

Please have a calculator (a simple, non-financial model is fine).

Please review the case study of UST Inc. and the case instructions (both linked below) to familiarize yourself with them. Please note that you are not expected to solve this case; this will be done in class.
